The Winning Continues

Two more wins, Del Mar division two and Branham division one. We are hitting the ball very well. I can see the players developing an approach to hitting not just swing for the fences.  If you have not looked at the stats, please do so they are impressive. The pitching has been outstanding with only two earned runs in the last three games.

Colin M. lets look at his elbows, head and front leg. Colin shifts his weight forward but the front leg stops it from coming to far forward. I know this because he is up on his back toes. Both elbows are in tight close to the body in a good power position.

Here we have Josh R, we all know he is almost a five tool player so here are some of the things he is doing very well. Josh has an excellent finish; this is where your hands should be if your bat is traveling on the correct path to the ball. His shoulders are over his hips with his chin tuck in his back shoulder. (The chin travel shoulder to shoulder)

Yearbook preview

This is what I submitted for the yearbook

For the second time in two years the JV baseball team is looking to freshman for leadership.  This year, Josh Rosado, Miles Correa and Steven Wright will lead the team.  On a team with the potential of 15 college players these three gentlemen stood out as leaders.

This year, JV Baseball will be playing Wilcox, Los Altos, Milpitas, Branham, Leland and Evergreen Valley.  These schools have a well established baseball program and always produce good teams. In the very near future we hope to be among these schools.

The coaching staff tried a back to basic approach with this young team, stressing self-responsibility and convincing each player to become a student of the game of baseball. With faith and prayers this is the start of something special at TKA. Special thanks to all the players for elevating the game of baseball to a higher level at TKA

Winning Streak

Five game winning streak! We have had some ups and downs during this streak but a win is a win. The team is starting to play very well but we still are making base running blunders. Seth has been Mr. Consistent on the mound and both Lukes are in mid-season form. Luke W, Miles, Seth, Josh R are all hitting around 400 . The next three games should be a challenge these schools are all Division 2 or better and I know Evergreen and Branham come to play. Remember this, we can be on a 20 game winning streak and I will still push you to get better. If you are not getting better you are going backwards

Berean

That was my 6th game against Berean. The first one was a 1-0 loss, second was a 10 run rule win. Then to last four have been leads lost in the late inning.

Mills

First 10 run rule of the season. Great job at the plate 12 hits 5 for extra bases.  Let keep the same approach at the plate for the rest of the season (try to go back up the middle). Remember on base percentage is more important than batting average.  We really needed this after all the 1 run games we been having. Also, way to play with class we had a big lead and I did not hear one player trash talk or disagree with me enforcing the unwritten rules of baseball etiquette.  Enjoy the day off and get your homework done.
